PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which can be properly and visually recognized on an image.SOLUTION: The guide wire 1 includes: a flexible and long wire body 2 and a plurality of imaging markers 3 in a ring shape, which are arranged along the center axis direction of a wire body 2 at a part (tapered par 21) on the distal end side at least of the wire body 2. Each imaging marker 3 includes a partially defective slit 31 and an imaging property is different between the slit 31 and a non-defective part 32 other than the slit 31. Then, the non-defective part 32 becomes a high imaging part 34 with a high imaging property, and the slit 31 becomes a low imaging part 33 with a low imaging property.
