PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire having an excellent blood vessel followability and pushability.SOLUTION: A wire 1 (or a guide wire) has a core part made of a long part having flexibility. The core part comprises a body part formed on the base end side, and a flat plate part 5 formed on the leading end side. The flat plate part 5 is formed with at least one slit 53 parallel to the axial direction of the wire 1 so that a plurality of slender portions 52 are formed.
