To provide a double bearing reel capable of reducing size of a contour of a reel on an operation member side for selecting a brake mode.SOLUTION: A double bearing reel comprises: a brake device for braking rotation of a spool； and a mode selection part 50 which is provided on the spool support part for selecting a mode of brake of the brake device at a rotary position of the operation member 60. The operation member 60 is supported rotatably around a position away from a center C on a first side plate 17a on a side where an opening is formed for attaching and detaching a spool of the reel body 11, by a support shaft 52 which is deviated to one side from a center of a major axis of projection of the spool of the operation member 60 to the axial direction.
