An annuloplasty implant having first and second support members, the first and second support members having a coiled shape, wherein the first and second support members are coil-like. Arranged around a central axis and having two free ends, in said coiled shape said two free ends are displaced from each other by a circumferential offset distance extending in the plane of the coil An annuloplasty implant is disclosed. The coil surface is substantially parallel to the annular circumference of the coil, perpendicular to the central axis, and the first and second support members and their respective free ends are the original heart valves of the heart valve. It is configured to be placed on opposite sides of the apex. A method of implanting an annuloplasty implant at a target site in the heart is also disclosed.
