PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation method and a cultivation apparatus which comprehensively perform operation from efficient storage and growth of plant seedlings to carrying out of grown plants.SOLUTION: The cultivation method includes a cycle of the following steps: carrying an empty cultivation unit out of a stock shelf 3 to transfer the unit to a working station 4； transferring a cultivation unit in which culture medium for the plant seedlings is put, to an empty storage place at the uppermost stage of a storage shelf 1 to store the unit； carrying a cultivation unit stored on the lowermost stage of the storage shelf 1 out to transfer the unit to the working station 4； stocking an empty cultivation unit from which the culture medium is taken out, on the stock shelf 3； and transferring each of the cultivation units stored on the storage shelf 1 to the lower storage place in order from the storage place nearer to the lowermost stage to perform a step-down operation. The cycle of the steps including the storage, the carrying out operation and the step down operation is repeated the same number of times as the columns of the storage shelf 1.
