PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cerium oxide-based material excellent in performance for removing odor.SOLUTION: A deodorant contains cerium oxide having oxygen deficiency. The cerium oxide has a fluorite type crystal structure. A BET specific surface area of the cerium oxide is 0.1 m/g or more and 30 m/g or less. The deodorant is in the form of a resin composition containing cerium oxide and a resin.
