The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating obesity, containing a chrysanthemum leaf extract as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, in an animal model in which obesity is induced by high fat diet, the chrysanthemum leaf extract specifically has shown a decrease in body weight, body fat, and fat cell size, inhibition of an increase in plasma adipokine content, an increase in energy metabolism, and an increase in heat generation. Also, obesity is suppressed even with a low dose of the chrysanthemum leaf extract, similar to a high dose administration. Therefore, it is expected that the chrysanthemum leaf extract can be effectively used for ameliorating, preventing, or treating obesity even with the low dose.본 발명은 국화잎 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는, 비만의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 국화잎 추출물을 통해서, 고지방식이로 비만을 유도한 동물 모델에서 체중, 체지방 감소, 지방세포 크기 감소, 혈장 adipokine 함량 증가 억제, 에너지 대사율 증가 및 열 발생 증가 효과를 구체적으로 확인하였으며, 또한, 상기 국화잎 추출물의 저용량 투여시에도 고용량 투여와 유사한 비만 억제 효과를 확인하였다. 이에, 본 발명은 저용량으로도 비만의 개선, 예방 또는 치료에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
