The present invention provides a composition for preventing, improving or treating cachexia including kimchi. The composition according to the present invention inhibits weight loss in cachexia, minimizes weight loss despite low food intake, reduces the size of cancer, which is one of the causes of cachexia, regulates inflammatory factors, and is associated with muscle atrophy. By regulating protein expressions it has a significant effect on the prevention, improvement and treatment of cachexia.본 발명은 김치를 포함하는 악액질의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 악액질에서 체중 감소를 억제하고, 적은 음식 섭취에도 불구하고 몸무게 감소를 최소화하며, 악액질 발생의 원인 중 하나인 암 등의 크기를 감소시키며, 염증 인자들을 조절하고, 근육 위축 관련 단백질 발현들을 조절함으로써 악액질의 예방, 개선 및 치료에 현저한 효과를 보인다.
