Disclosed is a delayed release drug formulation for delivery of a drug to the colon comprising a particle with a core A) and a coating for the core B), the core A) comprising a drug (such as prednisolone, 5-aminosalicylic acid etc.)； and the coating B) comprising a mixture of (i) a first material which is susceptible to attack by colonic bacteria and which is a starch comprising no more than 75 wt % amylose； and (ii) a second material which is a film-forming polymeric material having a pH threshold at about pH 5 or above (such as a Eudragit acrylate polymer)； and wherein release of the drug is delayed until the colon.
