A porous structure comprising: a series of branches, each branch having: a first end, a second end, and a continuous elongated body between said first and second ends, said body having a thickness and a length; and containing a number of nodes, each node containing the intersection of one of the ends of the first branch with the body of the second branch. 2. The porous structure according to claim 1, in which the first and second ends of one branch or a series of branches are located between the bodies of two other branches. The porous structure according to claim 1, in which the body of one or more branches has a number of nodes. The porous structure according to claim 1, wherein the cross section of at least one of the ends of the branch or row of branches is greater than the cross section of the body part of said branch or row of branches. The porous structure according to claim 1, in which at least part of the body of the branch or row of branches is curved. The porous structure according to claim 1, in which it is possible to connect a number of branches to each other by sintering, alloying, welding, brazing or by any other method. The porous structure according to claim 1, in which at least one window is formed by a series of branches and nodes. The porous structure according to claim 1, characterized in that it contains a material selected from the group comprising metal, ceramics, cermet or cermet, glass, glass ceramics, polymer, composite, and combinations thereof. The porous structure of claim 8, wherein the metallic material is selected from the group consisting of titanium, titanium alloy, zirconium, zirconium alloy, niobium, niobium alloy, tantalum, tantalum alloy, nickel-chromium alloy, for example stainless steel, cobalt-chromium alloy, and their combinations. 10.
