PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that can improve both the effect of preventing leakage of urine or the like from the sides and the absorption performance.SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes a top sheet, a back sheet, and a first absorber 11 provided therebetween. The first absorber 11 includes a plurality of layers of sheet members 12 and a water-absorbent resin 13 between the sheet members 12 and does not contain pulp fibers. The first absorber 11 has edge areas 15 on both sides in the width direction x and a central area 16 disposed between the edge areas 15.
