PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for wrapping and cutting, which cut wrapping of wrapped food constantly in the same shape appearance even if the closing action starting position of a shutter in a shutter apparatus is changed.SOLUTION: The method for wrapping and cutting a rod like food material continuously fed from a food material supply part in the downward direction includes, in wrapping and cutting the food material by a shutter mechanism 17 openably and closably attached to the shutter apparatus 15 that is droppable at approximately the same speed as the food material or controls a lowering speed relatively to the lowering speed of the food material, individually controlling the vertically moving action of the shutter apparatus 15, the opening and closing action of the shutter mechanism 17 and the vertical moving action of wrapped food receiving members 21 and 23 for supporting the wrapped food 19 to be cut and separated from the food material from the lower side, and finishing wrapping and cutting of the food material by the shutter mechanism 17 when interval dimensions between the shutter apparatus 15 and the wrapped food receiving members 21 and 23 are preset interval dimensions regardless of the closing action starting position of the shutter mechanism 17.
