PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing marine alga seed and seedling, easily and surely mass-producing marine alga seed and seedling having a high use value, such as Solieria pacifica and Meristotheca papulosa, and enabling work throughout the year.SOLUTION: This method for producing the marine alga seed and seedling such as Solieria pacifica whose alga body is made of a three layer structure consisting of surface tissue, middle layer tissue and medullary tissue includes cutting off the medullary tissue from a slice made by cutting part of the alga body followed by extracting a two layer tissue slice 6 comprising the surface tissue 4 and the middle layer tissue 3, developing a large number of medullary tissues 2a from the periphery of the slice by stationary culture, shredding the two layer tissue slice 6 in the condition with a mixer to bring to a tissue narrow slice, spinner culturing the tissue narrow slice so as to differentiate the medullary tissues 2a extending from the tissue narrow slice and grow to a young alga body or in some cases, to an adult body. The marine alga seed and seedling thus obtained are used for food, chemical raw materials, and transplantation for creating a seaweed bed.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】ミリンやトサカノリなどのような利用価値の高い海藻種苗を、簡単かつ確実に大量生産することができ、しかも年間を通しての作業が可能な海藻種苗生産方法を提供する。【解決手段】藻体が表層組織と中層組織と髄組織の三層構造で構成されるミリン等の海藻類の種苗生産方法において、藻体の一部を切り取った切片から髄組織を切除して表層組織4と中層組織3からなる二層組織切片6を摘出し、これを静置培養によりその周辺部から多数の髄組織2aを発現させ、このような状態になった二層組織切片6をミキサー等で細断して組織細片とし、さらに、この組織細片を攪拌培養することにより、該組織細片から伸長している髄組織2aを分化させて幼藻体、場合によっては成体へと生長させる。このようにして得られる海藻種苗は、食用、化学原料、藻場造成のための移植用などに利用することができる。【選択図】 図3
