The mooching reel includes: a frame； a spool rotatably supported by the frame, the spool including a spool hub； a drag assembly disposed within the spool hub, the drag assembly including a plurality of interleavingly arranged drag plates and drag washers； a draw bar extending through the frame, the spool and the drag assembly, the draw bar including a first coupling portion； and a drag knob including a second coupling portion for mating with the first coupling portion of the draw bar.
