The invention relates to an improved process for producing a podofilox gel composition comprising the steps: i) adding an antioxidant to a lower alkanol and mixing until the antioxidant is dissolved； ii) mixing a mixture obtainable in step i) with podofilox until the podofilox is dissolved to form a part I； iii) mixing the buffer system, the dispersing agent and the hydrophilic cellulose derivative to form a Part II； iv) add part II to part I, the addition rate being controlled by a pump system； v) mixing parts I and II for approximately 90 minutes； vi) optional division and packaging of the mixture obtainable in step iv) in an appropriate packaging.
