The method comprises applying dinitrogen to building materials. The dinitrogen is manually diffused to the materials through a perforated pipe system, a smoke and/or heat detection probe and a sensor for maintaining a concentration of the dinitrogen comprising 80-95% of the air composition present in contact with the building material. The perforated pipe system is immersed in the mass of the building materials, and is placed between the building material and an insulating layer. The smoke and/or heat detection probe is remotely placed in contact with the building materials.
