The present invention refers to the process for obtaining nanoparticles of gold, silver and zinc oxide, which comprises reacting the precursor metallic salts with aqueous mucilage of cladidio of opuntia amyclaea at temperatures ranging from 25°C to 80°C in such a manner that the metallic ions are reduced to form metallic nanoparticles under the action of said aqueous mucilage as well as metallic oxides with different forms and size in an aqueous medium.La presente invención se refiere al proceso de obtención de nanopartículas de oro, plata y óxido de zinc, que comprende en hacer reaccionar las sales metálicas precursoras con mucílago acuoso de cladodio de Opuntia anychlaea a temperaturas con un intervalo de 25-80 °C de tal manera que bajo la acción de dicho mucílago acuoso, los iones metálicos son reducidos para formar nanopartículas metálicas y de óxidos metálicos con diferente forma y tamaño en un medio acuoso.
