PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source equipment which can supply a light which imitates a light strength change of sunlight, or can supply a stabilized light of arbitrary strength, and especially, to obtain a light source equipment which can supply good sunlight imitation light for a research and an equipment development of a photosynthetic living things by sunlight. SOLUTION: The light source equipment comprises a light source part 1 which has an artificial light source, a power supply part 2 which supplies electric power to the artificial light source of this light source part 1, a light dimmer part 3 which has a dimmer filter 32 which controls light irradiated from the light source part 1, an irradiation part 6 which has an optical distribution carrier 61 for irradiating the controlled light in the light dimmer part 3 by light scattering, an optical sensor 71 fixed so that the light scattering part on the upper part of the optical distribution carrier 61 and the light sensing part of the optical sensor 71 is consistently arranged, and a measurement/control part 7. The measurement/control part 7 controls average light intensity of the irradiation side of the optical distribution carrier 61 in accordance with the setting value of the optical intensity of the optical distribution carrier 61 which is set up beforehand, and the measurement value of this optical sensor 71 by changing a current value to the artificial light source and/or a dimmer ratio of the dimmer filter 32.
