The invention is a composition of matter that is a mixture of pharmaceutical excipients or their constituents or food additives that when taken together in specified amounts is useful for the control and long term management of diabetes. Unlike allopathic medicines, the efficacy of the medicine is envisaged to be due to the simultaneous different mechanisms of action of the individual ingredients on multiple cellular pharmacologic targets or signaling mechanisms. Unlike herbal medicines, the long term efficacy of the medicine is consistent and reproducible due to complete analytical characterization of individual ingredients. Most of the individual ingredients used in the dosage form are indigenous to the human body thereby reducing the possibility of side effects. The dosage form is composed primarily of pharmaceutical excipients which are thought to have no biological activity when administered with conventional allopathic drugs.
