PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder beverage capable of expressing an appropriate viscosity and texture such as of a smoothie by simple hand stirring in such a very short period as one minute with a low-temperature low fat-content protein-containing food or beverage as a solvent.SOLUTION: The powder beverage is quickly dissolved particularly in a low-temperature and low-milkfat content milk in a short period of time by blending specific amounts of a thickener made of xanthan gum, lambda carrageenan and guar gum, and modified starch, so that a beverage having smoothie-like physical properties as well as excellent texture and flavor can be easily prepared.
