PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of easily confirming urination.SOLUTION: The absorbent article is used with an absorber portion placed on the inner side surface of an outer wearing article. The absorbent article has an overhanging part which overhangs outward in the lateral direction of the article and which can be turned back to a rear surface sheet 2 side on either side of an absorber body. The overhanging part has an indicator part 6 to be discolored in contact with a liquid, disposed between two layers of virtually impermeable sheets. The overhanging part also has a recessed part on a side of the absorbent body where a member constituting the overhanging part is recessed sideways of the absorbent body. The recessed part and the absorbent body are fixed to each other by a joint part, which has a moisture permeable region.
