A medical imaging system comprises a teleoperated assembly including a medical instrument. The medical imaging system also comprises a first imaging instrument for generating a first image of a field of view of the first imaging instrument and a second imaging instrument for generating a second image. A tracking fixture is engagable along at least a portion of the second imaging instrument.
