In the preparation of a medicament dosage form (or its precursor) by extrusion, the dosage form comprises a matrix having properties determined by the extrusion process. The matrix contains (a) at least one active agent, (b) one or more polysaccharides (and their derivatives and complexes) and, optionally, (c) one or more saccharides (and their derivatives) and (d) other materials.
