The invention relates to a vegetable paste composition for food industry and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the composition consists of 50...90% sunflower, flax, hemp or pumpkin seeds or combinations thereof, 9...45% water and 1...5% a mixture of salt, pepper and spices. The process, as claimed by the invention, consists in grinding the oil-bearing raw material in a ball mill or colloidal mill, after which the water and spice mixture are added to result in a paste-like composition.
