An ultrasonic observation apparatus includes a storage unit for storing a plurality of data sets including position information indicating a position of an observation point, the feature extracted by a computation unit for the observation point, image data generated by an image processing unit for the observation point, and parameters used for extracting the feature and generating the image data, a data selection unit for searching the data sets based on relative position information indicating a relative position between a patient and an ultrasound probe and selecting a data set meeting a predetermined condition, and an execution control unit for, when a data set meeting the predetermined condition is selected, causing the computation unit to re-extract the feature by use of the parameters included in the data set.
