A sieve comprises a frame 2 and a flexible body 1 having a plurality of perforations 13, the frame locates the sieve at a filling aperture of a watering can. The body extends from the frame within the volume of a watering can, the body is able to be flexed so that it is receivable by different size and shape filling apertures. The frame locates the sieve and prevents the sieve from passing through the filling aperture. The sieve maybe collapsible. The sieve may have a hinge to permit displacement of the sieve from the filling aperture whilst remaining connected to the filling aperture. The sieve can prevent objects, animals, and debris from entering the volume of the watering can.
