PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument capable of increasing the restorability of a shaft while suppressing the lowering of its rigidity.SOLUTION: A guiding catheter 10 comprises a shaft 12 having an outer layer. The outer layer has a first peripheral wall part 34 which is formed of a first material having a first yield elongation and forms a part of the outer layer in a circumferential direction. The outer layer further has the first material, and a second peripheral wall part 35 which includes a second material having a second yield elongation different from the first yield elongation and which forms the residual part of the outer layer excluding the first peripheral wall part 34.
