PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve delivery performances in a lumen of a living body.SOLUTION: A long body 10 for medical purposes includes a shaft 12 including an inner tube-side lumen 26 for storing a guide wire G and a distal opening 26b for delivering the guide wire G. The shaft 12 includes a tapered part 34 of which an outer shape is getting narrower toward the distal opening 26b of a delivery distal area 30, and that has a distal apex part 36 at the distal opening 26b.
