An adjustable length orthopedic device comprising: (i) a shaft having a longitudinal axis extending from a proximal end of the shaft to a distal end of the shaft, comprising an exterior having a diameter smaller than the medullary cavity of a bone within which at least a portion of the shaft is configured to reside, wherein the shaft comprises at least a portion of an adjustability mechanism located at said proximal end； (ii) a rod comprising a proximal end having at least a portion of an adjustability mechanism complementary to the adjustability mechanism of the shaft, wherein the adjustability mechanism of the shaft and the adjustability mechanism of the rod are configured to engage with one another in an adjustable manner； and (iii) a locking mechanism positioned at the intersection of the shaft and the rod configured to prevent rotation of at least one of the shaft and the rod.L'invention concerne un dispositif orthopédique à longueur réglable comprenant : (i) un arbre ayant un axe longitudinal s'étendant d'une extrémité proximale de l'arbre à une extrémité distale de l'arbre, comprenant un extérieur ayant un diamètre plus petit que la cavité médullaire d'un os à l'intérieur duquel au moins une partie de l'arbre est configurée pour résider, l'arbre comprenant au moins une partie d'un mécanisme de réglage situé au niveau de ladite extrémité proximale ； (ii) une tige comprenant une extrémité proximale ayant au moins une partie d'un mécanisme de réglage complémentaire au mécanisme de réglage de l'arbre, le mécanisme de réglage de l'arbre et le mécanisme de réglage de la tige étant configurés pour venir en prise l'un avec l'autre d'une manière réglable ； et (iii) un mécanisme de verrouillage positionné à l'intersection de l'arbre et de la tige configurée pour empêcher la rotation d'au moins l'un de l'arbre et de la tige.
