PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating carrots which can accelerate the growth rate of root and stem vegetables, especially carrots, and a groove forming farm machine for performing multiple agricultural tasks which can perform a series of agricultural tasks including making a ridge, forming a plurality of grooves in the ridge, planting seeds in the bottom of the grooves, spraying herbicide in the grooves, and covering the entire surface of the ridge with a sheet.SOLUTION: A method for cultivating root and stem vegetables comprises: a step 1 of cultivating the farm land, making a ridge, and forming a plurality of grooves 2 in parallel with one another on the ridge； a step 2 of planting seeds 3 of root and stem vegetables in the bottoms of the plurality of grooves 2 on the ridge with spacings； a step 3 of covering the entire surface of the ridge with the plurality of grooves 2 with a first sheet 4 which has a plurality of holes 5 arranged with spacings in the direction of the grooves 2 on the ridge after planting the seeds 3 of root and stem vegetables； a step 4 of covering the entire first sheet 4 with a second sheet which does not have holes； and a step 5 of keeping the temperature of the ridge with the grooves 2, getting the seeds 3 to sprout, and cultivating the root and stem vegetables.【課題】根茎菜、特に人参などの成長速度を早くすることが可能とする人参の栽培方法、更に農作業における畝の形成、畝への複数の溝の形成、畝溝底部への種まき、除草剤を噴霧し、畝全体表面へのシート貼りの一連の作業を可能とする溝形成用マルチ農機具を提供する。【解決手段】耕作地を耕うんし、畝および畝に、複数の溝２を平行に形成するステップ１と、複数の畝溝２の底部に、根茎菜の種３を間隔をあけてまくステップ２と、根茎菜の種３をまいた後に、畝および複数の溝２の表面全体を、畝溝２の方向に、間隔を持って配列された複数の孔５が開けられた第１のシート４で覆うステップ３と、第１のシート４の上の全体を、孔のない第２のシートで覆うステップ４と、畝溝２の温度を保温して、種３を発芽させ、根茎菜の生育を行うステップ５とで構成される根茎菜の栽培方法である。【選択図】図３
