The present invention relates to immunogenic conjugates comprisingS. aureusserotype 5 and 8 capsular polysaccharides conjugated to carrier proteins and methods for their preparation and use. Methods for making the immunogenic conjugates of the invention involve covalent conjugation of the capsular polysaccharides with the carrier proteins using conjugation chemistry involving either 1,1-carboyl-di-1,2,4-triazole (CDT) or 3-(2-pyridyldithio)-propionyl hydrazide (PDPH).本發明係關於包含金黃色葡萄球菌(S. aureus)血清型5及8莢膜多醣與載體蛋白質相結合的免疫原性結合物,及其製備及使用方法。製造本發明之免疫原性結合物的方法包括使用涉及1,1-羰基-二-1,2,4-三唑(CDT)或3-(2-吡啶基二硫基)-丙醯肼(PDPH)之結合化學法,使莢膜多醣與載體蛋白質共價結合。(無元件符號說明)
