A composition for addition to a milk or milk-based beverage, the composition including the following components, on a w/w basis (wherein the component amounts total 100%): 1. Silica between about 1% to about 10%. 2. Vegetable oil between about 20% - about 90%; and 3. Polyglycol mix between about 10% - about 90%. The composition allowing control of foaming and frothing in the beverage as a result of carbonation.
