PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbing article using a thermoplastic and flexible wetness indicator composition which is colorless in the initial period, vividly assumes a color with excellent responsiveness by being wet with water and does not assume a color by moisture absorption or the like other than being wet with water.

SOLUTION: The wetness indicator composition comprises: 0.1-5 wt.% pH indicator (a) which is substantially colorless at a pH of 7 and assumes a color in an acidic region 20-90 wt.% surfactant (b) 5-55 wt.% polyalkylene glycol (c) 0-70 wt.% carboxylated polymer (d) and 0.1-5 wt.% acidic substance (e) other than the ingredients (b) and (d). In the absorbing article comprising a front sheet 2, a back sheet 3, and an absorbent 4 interposed between the sheets 2 and 3 and having, applied thereto, a hot-melt composition which changes in color upon contact with a body fluid, the wetness indicator composition is used as the hot-melt composition.
