PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article using a thermoplastic and flexible hot-melt composition whose initial color phase is colorless, configured to develop clear color with high responsiveness as wet with water and hardly cause such inconvenience as natural color development, decoloring or ooze of color caused by absorbing moisture other than water wetting.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes a front surface sheet 2, a rear surface sheet 3, and an absorber 4 interposed between the sheets 2 and 3. The hot-melt composition 5 to be colored in contact with a bodily fluid is applied to the absorbent article 1. The hot-melt composition 5 includes (a) a pH indicator of 0.1-5 wt.% which is substantially colorless at pH 7 and which develops color in an acidic range (b) glycerine fatty acid ester of 20-90 wt.% which has the surface-activating effect (c) polyalkylene glycol of 20-35 wt.% (d) polymer of 0-70 wt.% having a carboxyl group and (e) an acidic substance of 0.1-5 wt.% other than (b) or (d).
