The effect of chilling in strawberry seedlings increase physiological mature and plant growth vigor after transplant. Chilling treatment causes the plant’s meristem changed from vegetative to reproductive stage, so can induce flower initiation. The chilling requirement of strawberry is satisfied during prolonged cold storage. However, cold storage in the dark will deplete plant nutrition and decrease strawberry seedlings vigor and yield after transplant. The culture system for vigorous strawberry seedlings production includes a controlled temperature and humidity chamber for prolonged cold storage, several shelves with multi-layers and boxes for seedlings, low light intensity and specific wavelength LED light sources on the top of plants, and light control devices.
