PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article which hardly generates creases on an absorber by an elastic member to improve an external appearance and touch, and hardly causes the elastic member to fall off.SOLUTION: A diaper 1A in the invention includes a pair of side seal parts 4 formed by joining both side edge parts 2a, 2b of an outer layer body 2 to which an absorbent body 3 is fixed. The outer layer body 2 has a weakly-functioning region WT where an expanding and contracting function is reduced in a fixing part 7 where the absorbent body 3 is fixed. A lateral part adhesive region IT and a side seal part adhesive region OT where an elastic member 24 is fixed between an outer layer sheet 22 and an inner layer sheet 23 through an adhesive 8 are respectively formed in an outer lateral part of the weakly-functioning region WT and the side seal part 4.
