PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article, where its side seal part is so readily torn off that the absorbent article is easily taken off from the body.
SOLUTION: The diaper 1A includes a pair of side seal parts 4, 4. At each side seal part 4, the diaper 1A has a knob 5 extending outward from the side seal part 4 in a lateral direction (an X direction). The knob 5 includes a belly-side knob 5a extending from the side end 2a of a belly-side sheet 2A, and a back-side knob 5b extending from the side end 2b of a back side sheet 2B. The belly-side knob 5a and the back-side knob 5b are doubled and include a space 5c for the insertion of a finger tip at least at a position on the circumferential fringe of the doubled belly-side knob 5a and back-side knob 5b.
