The invention relates to hemodialysis systems able to treat blood or otherbodily fluidsextracorporeally with improved ease and efficiency by means of a blood circuitassembly for adialysis unit. The unit includes a pair of dialyzer connections, a pair ofblood line connectors andan organizing tray with an air trap and a pair of pneumatic pumps forcirculating blood receivedfrom a patient through a circuit including a dialyzer and return to thepatient. Each pump has arigid chamber with a flexible diaphragm dividing the chamber into pumping andcontrolcompartments, the latter including a pneumatic control port exposed on therigid chamber andarranged for alignment and meeting with a corresponding port located on apanel of the dialysisunit so that pneumatic control can be applied by the dialysis unit to thepneumatic control port tocontrol operation of the pneumatic pump.
