PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work support system capable of fully managing a work by facilitating data transfer/reception among a work machine, a portable communication device, and a server.SOLUTION: A work support system 1 comprises: a fixed communication device 4 which is mounted in a work machine 2 and connectable with a server 3 via a portable telephone communication network； and a portable communication device 5 which is connectable to the server 3 via the Internet or the portable telephone communication network. The fixed communication device 4 comprises a first communication part 23 which transfers data on work to the server 3, and the server 3 includes a second communication part 25 which transfers the data on work to the fixed communication device 4 via the portable telephone communication network.
