PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing a mixture extract of Melilotus officinalis and Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim is provided with anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and abirritant effects. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains 0.1-10 wt.% of a mixture extract with 40-60 wt.% of Melilotus officinalis and 60-40 wt.% of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim, and 90-99.9 wt.% of cosmetic material. The cosmetic material is selected from the group consisting of skin softener, nourishing lotion, nourishing cream, essence, pack and dispersion foundation. In a method of preparing the cosmetic composition, a mixture of 40-60 wt.% of Melilotus officinalis and 60-40 wt.% of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim is completely dried, and a solvent is applied to the mixture in the amount of 1-20 times of the weight of the dried mixture. The mixture solution is heated at 50 deg.C for 4-20 hours, or precipitated at 5-37 deg.C for 1-15 days.
