PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing compositions containing glucosylceramide in a high concentration.SOLUTION: (1) A method for producing a composition containing glucosylceramide comprises the steps of: fermenting rice bran and/or rice germ to obtain a fermented product； extracting the fermented product with a polar solvent to obtain an extract of the fermented product； and partitioning the extract. (2) The method according to (1), where the rice bran and/or rice germ is defatted ones. (3) The method according to (1) or (2), where the partition is liquid-liquid partition with hexane and water, and the aqueous layer is subjected to partition with ethyl acetate and water, followed by partition with chloroform and methanol. (4) The method according to any one of the previous (1) to (3), where the fermented product is obtained by fermentation by using Aspergillus oryzae.SELECTED DRAWING: None
