PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote home care by providing a low-cost transfer assisting device that can safely transfer a care-receiver without applying a large physical burden to a care taker, dispenses with an extra installation space, and is usable even in a narrow space such as a toilet.SOLUTION: The transfer assisting device includes: a movable carriage 1 with ball casters 2； a swivel 6 supported so as to rotate freely on the movable carriage； a chair 13 erected on the swivel； a side stopper 14 for stopping the swivel 1； and footrests 20a and 20b on which both feet of a care-receiver B can be positioned. After setting the side stopper 14 into an operation state, a care taker A positions on a floor surface 3, with both legs opened, while placing both legs of the care-receiver B on the footrests between the care taker's both legs, holds the care-receiver B, falls backward to sit on a seat part 11, makes the side stopper to a non-operation state in the seating posture, and kicks the floor face 3 to rotate the swivel 6.
