PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of suppressing a fat signal in CEST imaging. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a sequence control unit. The sequence control unit applies the saturation pulse 1 and executes a plurality of data acquisition after the saturation pulse is applied. The sequence control unit applies the first fat suppression pulse 2 that selectively suppresses the fat signal after the application of the saturation pulse and before the execution of the plurality of data acquisitions. The sequence control unit executes a plurality of data collections by selectively exciting the water signal before each data collection of the plurality of data collections and then performing each data collection.
