PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial catheter capable of maintaining antibacterial performance for a long time by preventing antibacterial particles from being peeled off from its surface even if the particles are insoluble in water, and having excellent adaptability to blood and to provide a method for manufacturing the catheter.SOLUTION: The antibacterial catheter has a coating layer containing antibacterial particles on at least the surface of an intravascular insertion portion of the catheter. In the catheter, of the antibacterial particles forming the coating layer, the total volume% of the antibacterial particles having a particle size of 0.04-1.0 μm is ≥97%, and the coating layer has a surface roughness of <0.1 μm in arithmetic mean roughness (Ra).
