After much deliberation on the designation of my appliance, I have decided to call it a "sowing template". This designation corresponds to the intended use, and in particular this appliance is intended to ensure an equal spacing and an equal depth of the seed in the ground when particular types of vegetable are being sown. Seed grains of radishes and the like are especially suitable for this. These are fixed in the kernel and can easily be distributed individually into the 4-mm holes of the sowing template, so as then to be pressed into the garden soil with the hole-making appliance. The division of the holes in the sowing template ensures an equal spacing and rows. However, the circumference of the fully grown vegetable must be borne in mind. It does not matter whether a spacing of 5 to 10 or 15 cm is needed. If required, one or two rows must be skipped in both directions. The spacings of the rows are always indicated on the seed packets.
