The invention relates to a member for making seed holes for a planting/pricking out machine. According to the invention, the member for making seed holes includes a dibber 13 to which are coupled two cranks forming a four-articulation mechanism. One of the cranks is connected to the drive member and the other crank 15 comprises at least two elements 16, 17 clamped elastically against one another and mounted so that they can perform an axial displacement with respect to one another, which varies the total length of the crank 15 under the action of the load applied to the dibber 13 and returns it to the initial position after elimination of the load. The present invention particularly finds an application in planting vines. <IMAGE>
