The invention relates to an operator control and display device for a motor vehicle, having a proximity-sensitive and touch-sensitive screen (4, 4b, 5, 19) which comprises a display area with a first segment (6, 20, 22) and a second segment (7, 21, 23) which is arranged on the latter along a contact line (8, 16, 24, 25).
