A stable liposome formulation for the treatment of cancer. The preparation comprises liposomes containing one or more POPC, DMPC and DOPC, and sirolimus, umirolimus and everolimus which are one or more anticancer drugs encapsulated in the liposomes. Also provided are an efficient remote film loading method for filling liposomes with anticancer drugs and a method for treating cancer with liposome formulations.
