PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a processed food reproducing the original taste of pickled mackerel without depending on the skill of a skilled worker, and enabling mass production.SOLUTION: A method for producing a processed food includes obtaining a processed food 10 by passing a preservation step P2 of preserving in a dryness-preventing state a seasoning treatment body 4 which is made by adhering a water absorbing medium 3 absorbing one or two or more kinds of edible powder 2 to a material 1. The edible powder 2 contains at least powder saccharide. As for the powder saccharide, powder starch syrup is suitably used.
