PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for making soy sauce cake discharged as an industrial waste from a soy sauce plant edible by human as a processed food, especially a method for producing a processed food having soft and pleasant sensation to the tongue. SOLUTION: The method for producing a processed food comprises heating and pressurizing soy sauce cake at a temperature lower than 150°C, to give a solid component and mixing the solid component with seasoning. In order to further improve the soft and pleasant sensation to the tongue, soy sauce cake is milled in a wet state, before and/or after the heating and pressurizing treatment.
